High End VS. Dupes

When you have an addiction of any sort, you get to a point where your taste matures. This is unavoidable and when it happens it is a little scary as to just what your addition can do to your bank account, and the little remorse that comes with it.

Here’s what I mean.
It is very clear amongst my friends and family that I have a crazy addiction to makeup. It has got to a point now that I can no longer call it a healthy addiction. This point of no return became apparent to me when I bought the “Soleil Tan De Chanel Bronzer.” I had wanted this for such a long time but could not justify the $67 price tag. But as my makeup collection grew and my appreciation for luxury makeup expanded, this price tag became more and more reasonable to me.

Of course it came to a point when I bought it, I’m just going to say that there is still no remorse or buyers regret here. So if you may allow some time for me to rant and rave about this incredible product.

This soleil, or in other words “firm mousse” like product, is a smooth lush product with a colour to suit multiple skin tones that can flawlessly be applied under or over powder products. This is a product that all makeup obsessed girls and guys need to truly experience one of the best products out there. When applied with a dense buffing brush, it leaves a natural bronze kiss to your cheeks, temples and hairline. The packaging is luxurious and timeless and the product is said to last for years. And after buying it and using it for a number of months now, I have to say; I’d pay $100 for this product. There are so many reviews online that will agree with every word I have said as well.

However knowing that there are some people still out there left unconvinced. I tried to find an affordable alternative. This was only done with moderate success.

The alternative I came closest to finding is the ColourPop bronzer in “poolside”.

Although this is a nice product, knowledge and experience needs to be accompanied with it. This product will rub your powder products off if applied over the top, same goes with some liquid products depending on what brush you use. I use a similar brush as what I use with the Chanel product, but I apply it to my face firstly with my finger and buff it in with the brush.

This ColourPop Dupe of sorts is a high maintenance product and I believe even though it is $8 USD, the hassle free Chanel product is worth the $59 price difference.

Even though I think that this is a reasonable thing to think, I know people will still think I’m crazy. However I also know I am not alone in thinking this! If you are up for the challenge of finding a better product for cheaper than go for your life, but I am happy with paying $67 for this epic bronzer.
